2020 BVA Male National Volleyball Championship to be held at Belize City Civic Center on January 25 & 26
Friday, January 17, 2020 — The Belize Volleyball Association will be hosting the Male National Volleyball Championship at the Belize City Civic Center on January 25 and 26, 2020. The general public is invited to come out and experience the excitement as the top male volleyball teams from all over the country compete to become Belize’s National Volleyball Champion 2020.
District associations and clubs are reminded that all interested teams are required to confirm their commitment to participate in the tournament by email to the BVA at BelizeVB@yahoo.com by 7:00PM on Monday, January 20, 2020. Team rosters and registration fees of $250 per team are due by 7:00PM on Wednesday, January 22. A compulsory meeting of all coaches and team captains/managers will be held on Friday, January 24 at the BES Gymnasium at 7:00PM. Additional details, including the Official Tournament Ground Rules, are available by email from the BVA.
Game Schedules will be available within the coming days, once all the teams have officially committed. The National Championship is expected to see participation from across the country of Belize, with teams from Orange Walk, Caye Caulker, Belmopan, San Pedro, Dangriga, Punta Gorda, Belize City and Cayo. It is estimated that over ten male teams will enter the competition. It is an Open Competition, so the Belize Volleyball Association welcomes as much participation as possible.
Fans from across the country are encouraged to come out to the Civic Center to cheer on their teams. Fans can enjoy two full days of volleyball starting from 8:30AM on Saturday, and ending with the award ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Entrance fee is $5 per day.
The BVA National Championship is held annually, and this year, due to the amount of interested teams it became necessary to host the male and female nationals on separate dates. This year, the Female National Volleyball Championship is tentatively scheduled to be held at the UB Gymnasium in Belmopan City on February 8 & 9, 2020. More details on the female event will be shared separately.
