Dragons Wins First Place in Corozal One-Day Tournament

May 4, 2019 – The Corozal Volleyball Association with the help of the Corozal Sports Council hosted a one-day men’s tournament today in Corozal. Teams from Belize City (Dragons and Jaguars), Cayo (Alpha Warriors), Team Corozal Massives and the U19 and U17 National Teams participated. Dragons came away with the win, with Alpha Warriors in second place, and Jaguars third.

Pool A: 
Cayo Alpha Warriors over U19 NT, 2-0, 25-20, 25-19
Cayo Alpha Warriors over Jaguars, 2-1, 25-22, 18-25, 18-16
Jaguars over U19 NT, 2-0, 25-22, 25-22.

Pool B:
Corozal Massives over U17 NT, 2-0, 25-22, 25-17
Dragons over Corozal Massives, 2-0, 25-18, 25-18
Dragons over U17 NT, 2-0, 25-15, 25-14

Match for the 3rd place in each Pool:
U19 NT over U17 NT, 2-0, 25-13, 25-16.

Semi-Finals
Dragons defeated Jaguars 2-0, 25-19, 25-20.
Alpha Warriors defeated Corozal Massives: 2-1, 14-25, 25-17, 19-17

Bronze Medal Match:
Jaguars defeated Corozal Massives, 2-1, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13.

CHAMPIONSHIP
Dragons defeated Alpha Warriors, 2-0, 25-19, 25-17.
